Why manual? Why no automatic detection?

Auto-detection is coming in a later update. For now, manual rectangles are deliberately private — no face data ever gets processed by an AI model. You see exactly what is hidden and nothing else.

Blur or pixelate — which is safer?

For privacy, both work well when the rectangle covers the whole face and the blur radius is strong. Pixelate has been shown to be reversible in extreme cases; blur is generally safer for truly irreversible concealment.

Does this upload my photo?

No. All blurring runs in your browser via the Canvas API.
